In the Routine

This week was pretty much "in the routine" and included out-patient therapy visits, a visit to Trish's school for parent's night, as well as shopping and a bunch of "hanging out at home".

We have been told by everyone at BNI that the process of recovery can last two years and sometimes longer. So sometimes we forget that Trish is only two and a half months into this process. She is doing wonderfully and has accomplished so much, but there is a while yet to go.

She did enjoy her visit to her school, and many, many of the staff, teachers, and parents were very glad to have a chance to see her and to visit.

More next week ...

Hey Trish,
It must have been nice to get back to school. I was wondering if you were going to be able to return to teaching. If you know your plans have Uncle Richard let us know.
I have my room pretty much ready. Just doing some last minute preparations for Open House.
Love, Laura

Trish,
I've been thinking of you still and hope to come down to see you again soon. It was so great to see you in person and see your house, etc. I bet you're glad to have the lift. Hang in there and keep showin' those dimples :)

Keep it up Trish...you are the greatest example of what happens when we believe in ourselves and do not give up. We all have times when we need to face adversity and challenges that seem so overwhelming. Your strength and courage will be with me forever. I know I will face and challenge any obstacle put in front of me because of what I have seen and learned from you.
Thank you
Debbie

Dear Trish,
I don't know if you will remember me, but I am Hannah Shanken's mom from Brisas (drama-and you mentored one of my students Leah as ASU East student when Hannah was in 3rd grade) Well! I just wanted to say hello and that you have been in my prayers since I heard about you this summer. I am so impressed with all that I hear about your progress. There is a special Aprende/Corona mom that I would love for you to meet and chat with about raising kids in your situation. I think that she is an awesome mom and would be a friend and fellow support as time goes on for you and your family. Her name is Kathy Hacker~ perhaps you know her already. I just thought that she would be a great source of inspiration as a supermom on wheels. I just wanted to say that you are a wonderful source of inspiration for our community. Take care and keep smiling and enjoy your boys as I just sent mine off to college in Tucson and I miss him terribly. A fellow teacher, Laurie Shanken

Trish and Scott,
Sounds like you two are making great progress and finding ways to accomplish your goals. The lift must make life somewhat easier. Hope that the doctors have found a medication to control your pain. I remain hopeful that the pain is a positive sign.

Hope your boys are enjoying the new school year.

You remain in our prayers,
Myrna & Skip
