Trish, you are simply amazing! I was not able to read your blog for a while and when I got back on I was so happy for you! The lift that was installed is awesome! I love that you were out on the boat with friends and family enjoying the day! You look great and you are an inspiration to us all. Keep up the great work! Hope to see you soon!

Trish ~
I just read the article - it gave me chills! You see, I fractured 7 vertebra in 1982, riding my 3-wheeler at Whitewater in Palm Spgs., CA. I was 3 months shy of my 19th birthday. I was also riding my (then) Hubby on the back when we hit a berm & launched 50 plus ft.

I suffered compression fractures to 7 vertebra, including T5 & T6, and initially, was unable to move my legs, etc. I DID have nerve response, however (like you...) and, miraculously, was released from the hosp. in less than a month, in a removable "shell" cast, but WALKING!!!

I tell you this to give you HOPE!!! Where there is nerve response, there is a great deal to HOPE for, I believe!! Keep your chin up, dear lady! You CAN DO THIS - and I truly believe in my heart that someday, you too, will overcome this injury & be back up running circles around those 3rd graders! (OK - maybe not running circles, but that is because we are over 35! LOL!)

HOPING & Praying for your FULL recovery!

Hey Trish & Scott, What a great article in the newspaper. I'm gathering items now to send for your fundraiser. I'm certainly praying that a lot of money will be raised and you can buy the stim bike. I'm sure it would be a big help to your recovery.
Love to you, Scott, and the boys.
